چکیده
We demonstrate fiber few-mode interferometers based on a self-assembly surface corrugated grating using charged nano-particles. Initially, an abrupt taper (AT) was first created micro flame. The AT then further outwardly stretched to make elongated uniformed until the tapered diameter achieved micron scale. high order core modes (HOCMs) were excited at and optical path difference (OPD) among enlarged through achieve interference effects seen. However, significantly enhance with higher extinction ratios (ER) over such short length of interferometer, external assisted made nanoparticles form period, Λ, approximately 14 μm. This intermediate period helpful in scattering attenuating some unwanted high-order change characteristics interferometer (FMI). FMI (SAFG) used temperature sensors, maximum resonant wavelength shift 4.6 nm, range from 20–60 °C. sensitivity 112.6 pm/°C coefficient determination, R2, as 0.99, which revealed linearity results.

Optimization of Apodized Fiber Bragg Grating for Sensing Applications
This paper presents the modeling and characterization of an Apodized optical fiber Bragg grating for maximum reflectivity and minimum side lobe power wastage and narrow spectral response. The modeling is based upon coupled mode theory together with transfer matrix method. This matrix approach is effective at treating a single grating as a series of separate

A low cost fiber-optic micro-cavity interferometric sensor is presented. The micro-cavity is fabricated at the fiber tip by splicing a silica capillary to a single mode fiber and then heating/melting the capillary to form a microsphere with an internal air cavity. Applications of the micro-cavity sensor for temperature and traverse load measurements are demonstrated. The sensor has small size a...

A refractive index (RI) sensor based on a novel fiber structure that consists of a single-mode-multimode-single-mode (SMS) fiber structure followed by a fiber Bragg grating was demonstrated. The multimode fiber in the SMS structure excites cladding modes within output single-mode fiber (SMF) and recouple the reflected cladding Bragg wavelength to the input SMF core. By measuring the relative Br...

Interference as a wave characteristic of the electromagnetic wave has many applications in science, technology and medicine (Grattan & Meggit, 1997; Wang et al., 2011). The fringe visibility of the first order interference experiments such as the famous double slit Young experiment and Michelson interferometer, is determined by the first order correlation function (Gerry & Knight, 2005). The fi...
